Scholarships...

Full and partial work scholarships are available for the conference. We are making every effort to allow those with limited funds to attend. We do ask, though, that if you are applying for a scholarship, you agree to work.

Possibilities:

Administrative duties (to be determined ---according to our needs)

Give a Three hour Funshop (you WILL miss one presentation during this time)

Sell ads for the handbook; $100 in ads will "cover" one registration.

If you have any other talents that might be of value to the conference, I’d be happy to discuss it with you. No scholarships will be given after January 18, 2008 (the Early Bird Deadline). We also ask that, even if you receive a scholarship, you support the hotel if at all possible---as that is what makes it possible for us to host it there.

To apply for a scholarship, please send an e-mail to NEUnschooling@aol.com introducing yourself, explaining your situation briefly, and describing work you might be willing to do.

If you are willing to help support the scholarship program, please check the box on your registration form and let us know how much you’d like to contribute! Thank you for your generosity! Scholarships are supported by donations and by the Raffle.

Raffle and Silent Auction...

The Raffle and Silent are the main ways we are able to fund scholarships for the conference to allow families to attend despite financial hardship. Please consider donating items to the event, and participate at the conference. It’s fun and there are always amazing items from our community. E-mail Kathryn at NEUnschooling@aol.com if you have any questions or donations.

Conference Directory...

We’ll be including a simple directory with basic information (names, ages of kids, and contact information) of any registrants that agree to be included in your conference packet.

Exhibitors...

How Your Company or Organization Can Participate!

1) Exhibit Booth at the Conference
Join us to Exhibit at the Conference. You are sure to get exposure and recognition for your product or organization. There will be plenty of time available for the attendees to check out your products and services.

2) Conference Handbook Advertising
This is an excellent way to put information about your organization in the hands of our attendees. The Conference Handbook will be kept as a reference for years to come, particularly since a contact directory will be included. If you cannot attend the conference, advertising in our handbook will still help attendees learn about your products/services. If you are at the conference, a special note in your ad can direct people right to your booth.

3) Brochure Bag
At registration, all families will receive a canvas bag with information about the conference, catalogs, fliers, and advertisements. Exhibitors and other businesses can use the bag as an inexpensive way to reach a large number of unschooling families. Attendees of other conferences say they take these bags home and share the information with their support groups, independent study groups, family, friends, etc., thereby increasing the number of people you reach and maximizing your advertising dollars. For a flat rate of $25.00, the Northeast Unschooling Conference will include your brochure, ad, or catalog in the brochure bags.

Added Bonus for Exhibitors and Advertisers!
As an added bonus to Exhibitors and Advertisers, the Northeast Unschooling Conference will add a link from our conference website to your website. Please be sure to provide your website address. Links will stay on the website for one year from the time your application is received and accepted.

For more information and pricing, e-mail NEUnschooling@aol.com.

FAQ...

I already have a Raffle item I want to donate. What should I do?
E-mail Kathryn at NEUnschooling@aol.com, and she’ll get you hooked up.

Who did your Web Site?
Crystal Pina, an unschooling mom, designed the web site. You can reach her at crystal@crystalpina.com or visit her website at www.CrystalVisionsOnline.com.

I have a really cool idea for the conference. Can you make it happen?
Maybe. Send it along and we’ll see what we can do. It’s pretty late now. But there’s always next year.

I can’t figure out how to register.
On each page of the site there’s a nifty check that says “Register.” Click on it and it will take you to where you need to be.

What does the Conference fee cover?
The fee covers all Presentations, Funshops, special events, and your goodie bags, badges, etc. It does not cover hotel or food.

Is this thing good for kids?
It’s really, really cool for kids. There are Funshops, they are welcome at all presentations, there’s a pool and elevators at the hotel, and lots of unschooled kids and teens.

Can I register for just one day?
You can come for just one day, but, alas, you must pay the full fee. Your Conference Organizers are easily confused, and the logistics of this are just beyond them.

I registered and never got a confirmation.
Your Conference Diva has been trying very hard to juggle planning an unschooling conference, possible adding to her family, and other weird things. She has been trying very hard to send confirmations, but it doesn’t always happen. She does, however, respond well to nagging, so you can drop a note at NEUnschooling@aol.com and she will confirm things for you

What’s the schedule?
A tentative schedule will go up later, but stuff happens.

How do I contact you?
You can e-mail me at NEUnschooling@aol.com.
You can send registrations, questions, or fan mail to
